Directions
Glenridding is most quickly reached via the M6 and
Penrith. A more scenic route is via the South Lakes gateway and the
Kirkstone Pass.

Directions from Penrith
- Exit Motorway at Jn 49 and take first exit onto A66 signposted Keswick
- At next roundabout take the second exit for Pooley Bridge (A592)/Ullswater
- At T junction at the head of the lake turn right for Glenridding, Patterdale and Kirkstone Pass
- The Inn on the Lake Hotel is on the left-hand side as you enter the village. The first entry is opposite to the garage
- If you miss this, the second entrance is 100 yards further on, opposite the entrance to the Information Centre Car Park
Directions from M6 junction with A590
- Exit Motorway at Jn 36 and take first exit along A590 for Kendal
- At next roundabout take the second exit for A591 for Kendal, Ambleside and Keswick
- At next roundabout straight along the A591 for Ambleside and Keswick
- At outskirts of Windermere stay on A591 for Kirkstone Pass and Ambleside
- At next roundabout turn right for A592 Kirkstone Pass, Patterdale, Glenridding, Pooley Bridge and Penrith
- Follow Kirkstone Pass, through Patterdale and into Glenridding
- The Inn on the Lake Hotel first entrance is on the right-hand side crossing the stone bridge over the river, and opposite to the entrance of the Information Centre car park
